Something about departures, today’s word is e-m-p-a-t-h-y, and in the “current zombie apocalypse” department…
Lots to do today so here’s a link to a great Bolger designed instant take on a Boston Whaler.
A lot of boat for two sheets of plywood.

Ah, yes. Looks like we *were* talking about the same Skimmer.
I’d be very interested to know if anyone has any experience with one with an engine at the lower end of the specified power range.
Back when we were in the Canaries a French friend built a Skimmer and used it with a 9.8 two stroke. Worked finest kind. He also tried it with a 3.5HP and a 5HP and the results were disappointing.
Still, thats a pretty stable working platform if you have deck space for one. Never understood the need to get 200 yards to shore at 20 knots.
The issue is it’s not a great rowboat. Bolger’s long Tortoise rows better and fits on the foredeck better.
Thanks, that’s interesting. As and when I get around to it, I might look at something (not sure what) different, as I’d like to stay under 6hp for legislative and cost reasons.
