an Islander 36 for sale…

American science is shrinking, some letters of note, and in the “did you see this one?” department…

This week my headspace is mostly film and audio gear. That said, there is an interesting Islander 36 available for sale in Croatia that is worth looking into.

This was on the Islander 36 group this morning…

Efforts to sell my I-36, Geja, in Croatia have failed so far. Kinda makes sense – nobody in Europe is familiar with Islanders, and she’s now 50 years old!

She’s in MUCH better shape than when I bought her in 2008. I’d be planning the next summer voyage myself had I not just fathered a kid (which has me temporarily in Finland).

The next annual dry-storage bill comes due in August (about $6k), so time is running out for a sale. I’ve been asking $19,000, would easily go down to $15,000. Anything lower and I’d probably part out the boat, grateful for the 13,000NM I logged around the Med.

If you have any ideas to help keep the old girl afloat, do reach out! And/or spread the word if you can.

Cheers,
Andrew
