A quick reality check, about those divisive narratives, and in the “next in line” department…
Back when I was in junior high, there was a National Geographic with a story about a guy a few years older than me who was sailing around the world in a Lapworth 24.
It rocked my world.

The idea that someone not unlike me could sail around the world in a used 24-foot sailboat was both mind-boggling and inspiring. It went against everything I knew about yachting being for the wealthy and laid the groundwork for my beliefs that what I wanted was possible.
To tell you the truth, it still inspires me.
As it happens, Dove wound up in the USVI and I had a chance to chat once with the then current owner. Sadly I never came across Dove in person and I’ve heard it had fallen on bad times. Still, I like the idea that it might still be around and perhaps I might come across it while rowing through some anchorage.
