I’ve been spending a lot of time getting caught up on the current state of EV-friendly sailboat stuff. Surprised to see that’s it’s the same old same as you’d think some improvement would be part of the mix.
Not surprised to see the cost of stuff is mostly a whole lot more expensive.
What’s a poor guy going to do?
Our first electric propulsion set up cost us less than $500 (batteries not included). Looking at current costs on the needful bits I’m pretty sure I can cobble together a workable system for between $750 – $1000 dollars.
Obviously batteries need to be factored in. I have a couple of ideas I need to research a bit more before I weigh in on that subject. More on that as it develops.
