So, yeah, the US military took out another alleged drug boat killing three persons in the process. As it happens, the powers that be are in high spirits and promise more of the same. The fact that it’s against international law doesn’t seem to bother them at all.
As for the folk who actually pulled the trigger, I can’t help but think about the “only following orders” defense and how well that worked out in Nuremberg…
Depressing times indeed.
While I’m sure we all thought that WSHTF, it would be nasty. However, even I did not consider that the excrement aimed at said fans would be delivered with a high pressure hose in an unrelenting torrent. Not the apocalyptic situation most of us expected.
If you have not had a chance to read the Sturmtaucher Trilogy by Alan Jones (The Gathering Storm, Flight of the Shearwater and The Turn of the Tide) it might not be a bad idea considering the current state of affairs we find ourselves in.
Personally I found the series riveting. It answered questions I’d never found suitable answers for regarding the rise of the Third Reich. Plus, with its sailing content, it kept the action moving.
Right up there with “The Riddle of the Sands”.
