My better half the other day asked me what boat I’d get if a million dollars magically appeared in my wallet.
It got me thinking…
First of all it, would be a monohull. Sure I thought about multihulls but you can’t really beat the bang for the buck of a monohull.
Shoal draft is a given. Four feet at most.
So, after some serious consideration, the boat I’d get if all of a sudden I had that mystical money would be Reuel Parker’s junk rigged scow…
It’s a very cool boat.
Well, since my boatbuilding days are now mostly behind me, excepting dinghies, I’d be looking for a reasonable, used classic plastic without a rig to do a tradical, junkified, reasonable facsimile of Parker’s design.
Of course, what would you expect from someone firmly ensconced in the cheap seats?
