just something to read while you’re not spending money today…

Some Antarctic news, Sarah making sense as always, and in the “might be an interesting ‘H’ season” department…

So, we’re all not spending money today…

Right?

Anyway, I’ve always had a keen interest in the economics of stuff where it affects me. Especially the economics of boat building, boat repair, and cruising. As a result, I ask a lot of questions.

Why does this cost what it costs? What did it cost to make? What’s the markup? Where am I being ripped off? Is this a good deal? Are they just using me like an ATM?…

Sound familiar?

We should all be asking those questions and, more importantly, getting and sharing those answers with each other. The usual “it costs what it costs” response of consumers to silly high prices no longer makes any kind of sense.

It’s time to elevate your consumer game and kick some ass.
