The news so far, some timely history, and in the “there’s always a downside” department…
I heard, the other day, that Keith Leitzke’s boat, CAL 20 Magic, had come to grief on the rocks in Hawaii.
For those unacquainted with Keith Leitzke or the much traveled Magic, this article has some highlights you should be aware of.
I’ve long thought the Lapworth designed CAL 20 is the most bang for the buck one can find for minimal blue water cruising. Jensen made nearly 2000 of them so there’s always one or two available for a small amount of cash.

On the plus side, the salvage/rebuild of a small boat like the CAL 20 is pretty easy and affordable compared to other bigger sailboats. Here’s hoping Magic salvaged and the various Magic voyages continue.
