A couple of docs worth checking out, an important question, and five great covers of a much covered song…
Not everyone is aware that John Steinbeck’s first novel, “Cup of Gold”, was based on the life of Sir Henry Morgan who was, at various times a privateer, pirate, and Lieutenant Governor of Jamaica.
The word swashbuckling certainly comes to mind.
Even more interesting, for me at least, is that “Cup of Gold” now resides in the public domain. I was surprised that Project Gutenberg did not have it but you can find it on Faded Page for free.
Everyone needs a pirate book to read on the night watch.
