EBM with a $400 million dollar self deal, hurtling becomes a scary word, and in the “It’s not just eggs” department…
So, as it happens, I need a bunch of stainless screws, bolts and nuts. Hey, I live on a boat and I always seem to need a bunch of stainless screws, bolts, and nuts as, I expect, you do to.
I also regularly complain about the costs of screws, bolts, and nuts whenever confronted with the extortionate pricing from folks in the marine trades. What can I say but unfair markups and piratical profits just get up my nose.
With me so far?
While stainless fasteners are pricey, one can bring the cost down quite a bit by buying in bulk. My choice of suppliers for the last few years are Bolt Depot and Albany Fasteners because their pricing is good and their service is top notch.
So, what with the current or projected tariffs by the Orange Felon, this letter yesterday from Albany Fasteners was not surprising…

With that in mind, it would make sense to stock up on whatever stainless bits you need whether it be fasteners, rigging bits or anything that uses steel or alloy parts.
Now, if you’ll forgive me, I have a shopping list to make out.
