An alternative to doom-scrolling, some scary sense being made, and in the “remember the Peter Principle” department…
Way back when, when we were living in a péniche just outside of Paris, I would have jumped at the chance to buy a Dufour T7 and sail it back to the US of A.
The T7 is a pretty awesome boat…

Of course, at the time, I was a lot younger and could contain most all of our worldly possessions into a couple of backpacks. Still, the allure of such a small home on the water still rings true.
For its time, the T7 was quite the “out-of-the-box” design. Certainly not the same old same niche that was the accepted mindset in the early 80’s.
I regret not buying one.
Anyway, they made around 250 of the design so they still pop up for sale. Not a bad boat to sail off to some out of the way place…
Might want to keep an eye out.
