I’m pretty sure that Hemingway’s two lines in “The Sun Also Rises” are the best description of change and tipping points I’ve ever come across. As such, the two lines come up in most of my thought processes whether it’s about trends in film making, sailboat design, or our place in the workaday world.
Oh yeah, there’s that ever present pesky political shit show as well…
Recently apparent issues I stress over, worry about, or keep me up at night are just about to morph from gradually to suddenly.
In other words, flying excrement meet rotating blades.
Big change soon come.
The downside, of course, is living in far too interesting times is a bummer. However, the upside is I no longer worry about it and can just focus on surviving the new impending reality.
I’m lucky. I have a boat that floats right side up, charts, and I’m still healthy enough to sail our boat to wherever it’s possible. Things, as they say, could be a whole lot worse.
Not a bad time to abandon the 5-year plan and buy a boat.
