For me, most of my chosen pursuits (sailing, surfing, cycling, climbing, backpacking) are all about getting away.
I don’t want to have anything to do with the internet when I’m in the middle of an ocean. Same goes for the phone, TV, and news. The absence of the all encompassing noise of the modern world is the rhyme and reason of why I like cruising.
I had not counted on a fascist takeover of my country and having to make sense of the ongoing clusterfuck we find ourselves living in. Not the retirement model I signed up for.
In the meantime, I feel the need to simplify stuff and I’ll be cutting back on posting here. For the foreseeable future I’ll only be posting on Mondays and Fridays.
